Priority 1 Air Rescue (P1AR) is celebrating its 25th anniversary dedicated to providing rear-crew centric mission training and operations with the expansion of its Search and Rescue Tactical Training Academy (SART/TAC) located in Mesa, Arizona by building and implementing a second Hoist Procedural Tower (HPT) that is currently employed with two Advanced Aircrew Mission Simulators (AAMS) for synthetic training programs.

P1AR’s hoist procedural towers provide rear-crew students the essential capability to practice the ‘live’ aspects of hoisting actual rescuers/patients learning relevant physical load managing techniques, cabin flow and fall protection security, mission role equipment preparation, fastroping, emergency and standard hoisting procedures while operating actual Breeze Eastern/Goodrich helicopter hoist systems the crews will be utilizing in the field.

“The addition of a second hoist procedural training tower operating along with our two AAMS devices at SART/TAC Mesa will provide us much needed training capacity for customer demand in the Americas region and give us the same capacity as our SART/TAC facility located in Bordeaux, France” said Brad Matheson, President Priority 1 Air Rescue Group. “Integrating the AAMS virtual environment and HPT physical synthetic training pieces together with our full spectrum instructor-led ground school training programs provides participants a more graduated and systematic crawl, walk, run progression. We have been providing this course delivery method to our customers since 2012. It produces demonstrable progress and tangible metrics in student performance and safety when progressing to the next phase of live flight training, which consequently allows the customer to get rear-crews standing duty in shorter time while also offering significant cost savings for their program”.

P1AR has also opened a new customer support center at a separate location for providing training solutions, courseware development, customer service, administration, and SAR & safety equipment sales to support the newly re-launched e-store.
