The dominant vertiport company in the Australian market, Skyportz has opened an expression of interest for small retail investors to purchase equity in the company.

The crowd source funding regime in Australia is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission which requires a detailed Offer document to be prepared and ongoing reporting requirements.

“Skyportz has amazing community support. We wanted to give individuals who might otherwise not have access to own shares in private companies the opportunity to join us as part-owners of our business”, said Clem Newton-Brown, CEO of Skyportz.

“The more people we have on our team who are passionate about Advanced Air Mobility, advocating for the industry, the better”, said Newton-Brown.

“We already have over 500 shareholders who invested in the early days. We are now at the stage that there is a lot more certainty. The front runner aircrafts are close to certification and there is strong policy support in Australia from all levels of government. Also, our air regulator, CASA is preparing the skies for this revolution in aviation”.

Skyportz has been assembling the pieces of the Advanced Air Mobility puzzle in Australia for the last 5 years. Its focus is on breaking the nexus between aviation and airports and enabling property owners to activate their sites with vertiports.

“There is enormous interest from the property industry to help us break the nexus between aviation and airports”, said Newton-Brown.

“We are working with Governments, air regulators and communities to establish the parameters for the introduction of vertiport infrastructure and short take-off and landing runways”.

Mr Newton-Brown likens the vertiport industry to the business of selling the picks and shovels to miners during the Gold Rush of the 1850’s in Australia.

“We don’t need mind which OEM strikes gold with their air taxi designs – they are all going to need vertiport networks to enable them to extract that gold”.

“If all the aircraft do is fly from airports and helipads then there will be no revolution”, said Newton-Brown.

My Newton-Brown said that investors who have backed OEMs are now starting to realise that there has been underinvestment in the ecosystem that underlies the promises of AAM on demand.

In addition to developing vertiport sites in Australia, Skyportz provides consultancy and master planning services globally as communities around the world gear up for this revolution in aviation.
