Airbus Helicopters has delivered the first H125 to the Carabineros de Chile Air Prefecture, within the framework of a fleet growth plan to expand the air coverage of Carabineros de Chile throughout the country.

“The incorporation of this aircraft shows the commitment that Carabineros de Chile has in terms of security towards our citizens. This aircraft, due to its characteristics and capabilities, will enhance the instruction and training of new pilots. This multipurpose helicopter will allow us to fulfill the rest of the functions carried out by the Carabineros Air Prefecture of Chile in support of the police function such as preventive patrol, aeromedical transfers and rescues. I note that the specific characteristics and high technology of this helicopter will allow us to operate safely and efficiently in high mountain rescue,” said Colonel Javier Álvarez Cortés, Prefect of the Carabineros Air Prefecture of Chile.

“We are very proud to know that this new H125 will carry out essential missions for the Chilean population and increase the capabilities of Carabineros de Chile in terms of training and rescues in high mountains. From Airbus Helicopters Chile, we are going to offer all our support to Carabineros de Chile so that their helicopters can carry out their missions in the most efficient way possible” explained Pierre Marie Gout, General Manager of Airbus Helicopters Chile.

There are 55 H125 family helicopters currently in service in Chile run by 24 operators. This single-engine aircraft is the reference aircraft of the country’s Armed Forces and Order and Security, serving in the Army Aviation Brigade, Naval Aviation and the Chilean Investigative Police.

Fast, agile and easy to use, the H125 is used by police forces in around 30 countries around the world. It is perfectly suited for multi-purpose police missions, such as surveillance, command and control, search and pursuit, rescue, special operations, escort and border patrol in high and hot conditions. The H125 belongs to the successful Ecureuil family, which in 2024 has reached 40 million flight hours with a market share of 82% in its category.
