Penzance Helicopters has installed Online Flight Board at the three heliports served by its scheduled passenger services – the main base at Penzance and two on the Isles of Scilly at St Mary’s and Tresco.  The system has been in full operation from earlier in 2025.

Online Flight Board is a product of British company Airtec Engineering, and provides up-to-the-minute flight arrival and departure data.  This can in turn be displayed online via mobile phones  for passengers and as an information panel in the heliport terminals.

The system also has a one-touch departure/arrival app for departure/ground crew to allow instant update from their mobiles if they want to override the system.

An upcoming release will provide the potential for advertising interleaved with the passenger information, thus allowing customers to generate revenue within the Online Flight Board solution.

Penzance Helicopters sees major benefits in providing passengers, their relatives and local transport services access up to date travel information.

Simon Logan, Commercial Director of Airtec Engineering said he was delighted with the adoption of its passenger information solution following a successful consultation and evaluation.

Penzance Helicopters is operated by Starspeed, who currently fly two Sikorsky S76C++ helicopters on the routes to the Isles of Scilly.
