Mauritius has received two Chetak helicopters to add to its Police Helicopter Squadron. India donated the Chetaks during a ceremony, where Indian Prime Minister Manohar Parrikar and Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth attended.
The acquisition aids Mauritius’s goal in enhancing the safety and security of their maritime defence. India is working with Mauritius in the $70 million “Trident Project,” reports Defence Web. Together they hope to build the infrastructure and facilities of a new National Coast Guard at Fort William.
