Shannon AirMed1 was named the 2009 Air Medical Service by the Texas Department of State Health Services at the recent Texas EMS Conference, marking the fourth year for the service to receive the honor. AirMed1 earned the award previously in 2002, 2003 and 2007. They are the only service in Texas to receive the honor four times.
