Shreveport, LA based Metro Aviation, Inc. will again provide comprehensive new helicopter completion services for the state of Texas and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Aviation Section as the result of a recent competitive bid award. The company will receive the two new AS350B3 “green” airframes from the manufacturer this month and will begin the extensive law enforcement completions with delivery by mid-year 2010. These latest airframes will provide additional capability to the Texas DPS with added hot and high altitude performance as well as external hoist capability.

Metro Aviation will provide complete finishing, equipment installation and systems integration for the equipped law enforcement helicopters in Shreveport, Louisiana. The new airframes will be equipped with NVG capability, external hoist, extensive law enforcement avionics, a gyro-stabilized color and thermal imager, Geneva Digital Audio System and a tactical flight officer suite for law enforcement systems management and operations. The self sufficient completion company will also provide custom paint and interior appointments for the two aircraft.
Metro Aviation most recently completed five new AStars and one new EC145 for the Texas Department of Public Safety Aviation Section after receiving a previous competitive bid award in 2008.
