SK Logistics was recently awarded an exclusive use helicopter contract supporting DOD agencies at Eglin and Tyndall Air Force Bases. The contract was awarded in December 2010 and will be active for six months.
Department of Defense agencies under this contract will be utilizing SK Logistics’ helicopter for prescribed burning, fire suppression and numerous other missions in support of Natural Resource Management. Eglin Air Force base is the largest air force base in the United States with over 464,000 acres to monitor.
“We look forward to providing the Department of Defense customers with an aerial platform to better perform their missions. We constantly strive to improve our training program to ensure our pilots are highly capable of providing our customers with their required needs. They are a pleasure to work with,” said Aaron Dyess, Director of Helicopter Operations.
The natural resource management divisions of these two government installations are to protect and preserve the land and wildlife present on the military installations. Aerial support is a vital function of their methodology. SK Logistics’ pilots possess extensive knowledge and training in providing this professional support required of them.
“Our mission is to provide our clients with the highest level of safety and experience. When I send pilots out on these contracts I know that our clients will be more than pleased with their skills. We look forward to fulfilling this contract with the Department of Defense customers,” said Hoke Smith, CEO.
