The Big Rapids City Commission met recently to consider a resolution approving the lease agreement with AeroMed for use of the community hangar at Roben Hood airport. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the 20 year deal. Commissioner Terry Harper said she was happy with the deal and it will help paying off the cost that remain outstanding. AeroMed could take up occupancy in the hangar as early as next week.
AeroMed operates two Sikorsky S76 helicopters, one from Grand Rapids and the other from Big Rapids – both in Michigan.
