Montreal based Dart Aerospace has selected Rotorcorp, LLC to conduct advance orders and delivery of the company’s emergency float system for the Robinson R66 Helicopter; with the anticipated FAA approval of the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) at the end of the summer.
“Helicopters find work where the roads end. Utilization of the Dart R66 floats provides for over-water emergency landing capability, but also allows for pre-flight removal in less than thirty minutes when payload optimization is necessary,” said Dan Casey, president of Rotorcorp, LLC.
Since the introduction of the R66 line of helicopters in 2010, attention has shifted to the development of accessories aimed at broadening the operational capabilities of Robinson’s first turbine light helicopter.
The Dart R66 float system is priced comparably to that of the company’s R44 float system at $35,500 for the standard landing gear option and $39,500 for extended gear floats. Rotorcorp will begin accepting advance orders on June 1st, 2013, with a refundable deposit of $5000 USD. Once production commences, orders will be filled in a first-come first-served basis.
