After the unfortunate crash that killed a flight engineer and injured two pilots, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has suspended all helicopter operations to the Badrinath, Kharsali, Sahastradhara and Harshil helipads. The crash occurred after take-off from the Badrinath shrine, carrying travellers. As reported by Press Trust of India, the State Tourism Minister, Satpal Maharaj, has commented that the suspension will affect the tourism to the Himalayan Shrines and affect chardham yatra.
