Russian Helicopters has signed a 12.6 billion ruble ($380M) order with the Russian Military, covering 40 Mi-8AMTSh helicopters. These will be built by the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, for delivery between 2014 and 2020. The Mi-8AMTSh is a combat transport version of the Mi-17 helicopter, with more powerful turboshafts and portside tail rotor. Its weapon systems include Igla-V AAM or Shturm-V ASM missiles, B8V20 rocket pods and a GSh-23 gun.
The Deputy Minister of the Department of Defense Yury Borisov and Russian Helicopters’ General Manager Dmitry Petrov signed the contract at a press conference today.
