The FAA awarded AATD cer­ti­fi­ca­tion to a new Model S623T twin tur­bine engine rotary wing trainer by ELITE Sim­u­la­tion Solu­tions.  The S623T is a full cock­pit, dual pilot flight train­ing device based on the per­for­mance of the twin engine tur­bine Euro­copter AS355.  Fea­tures include con­trol load­ing that enables a fully cou­pled Auto­matic Flight Con­trol Sys­tem (AFCS), Elec­tronic Flight Infor­ma­tion Sys­tem (EFIS), Garmin^® GNS 430 WAAS GPS, radar altime­ter, DME, ADF, Flight Direc­tor, Autopi­lot, WIFI tablet sup­port, optional wheel car­riage with retractable gear and a high def­i­n­i­tion world-wide visual scenery database.

“The S623T is the most sophis­ti­cated, fea­ture rich and com­pre­hen­sive rotary wing trainer for ELITE to date.  In addi­tion to AATD IFR accred­i­ta­tion,  the high fidelity aero model and qual­ity of the dis­play and scenery makes the S623T an excel­lent pro­ce­dural trainer for rotary wing spe­cific  maneu­vers such as hover taxi, quick stops, con­fined area land­ings, pin­na­cle land­ings, autoro­ta­tions, max per­for­mance take off, run­ning land­ings, just to name a few.  It is also a tremen­dous emer­gency pro­ce­dure trainer for loss of tail rotor, loss of tail rotor thrust, hot starts, hung starts, power, sta­tic sys­tem and elec­tri­cal emer­gen­cies.  In addi­tion to IFR, Com­mer­cial and ATP fly­ing cred­its, all ELITE heli­copters are approved for 7.5 VFR fly­ing cred­its,” said Wayne Keyes, ELITE’s Direc­tor of Busi­ness Development.
