The helicopter industry is poorly represented this year at the NBAA convention, which opens today in Orlando, Florida. There is no direct representation from AgustaWestland, Airbus Helicopters, MD Helicopters or Sikorsky.
Bell and Robinson are there, and both have helicopters on display. Bell has borrowed the black 429 they delivered a few months back to Montana operator Rocky Mountain Rotors, while Robinson has a 2012-build R66 from a more local owner in Tallahassee.
Sikorsky could claim to be partly there, as there is a booth in the name of their Polish subsidiary PZL Mielec, but we would expect a “Sikorsky booth” if they wanted to promote their helicopters – particulary the S76D which would appear targeted at exactly the same business aviation market as many of the corporate jets which form the backbone of an NBAA Convention.
