EU-funded hospital helipad proposed in Zamosc, Poland

The independent Public Provincial Hospital of them. Pope John Paul II Hospital in the Polish city of Zamosc isproposing a helipad to allow them to accept patients by air.  Local newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza believes it will be constructed with EU funds, and will allow 24 hour operations.  Tenders to proposed construction companies are already being issued, and it is hoped will be completed by the end of 2012.  Current estimates put the cost at around 2 million zloty ($700K).

Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe, the Polish organisation which runs their air ambulance fleet, has recently taken delivery of the last of an order for 23 new Eurocopter EC135s (see HeliHub.com report)
